Sikkim is the 22nd state of Eastern Himalayas of India. The Lepchas were the first settelers in Sikkim. The new land was named Nayamyam (Heaven) by the Lepchas. In 14 century the Bhutias came from Tibet and they named the land as Demjang. In 18th and 19th centuries the Nepalese came into Sikkim and established themselves. And, today, they has formed the majority community in the state.
Kanchanjunga is the most beautiful Himalayan peak of world. The hight of peak is 8598 Mitre and third position in hight in the world. The easterm Kanchanjunga is in Sikkim. There are an assemblage of
some peaks of semi hight on the Kanchanjunga. In Nepali or Indo - Aryan language SU means beautiful and SAM means equal. Su plus Sam becomes Susam or Susham. Susham converts itself as Sushim. Sushim means Beauty of Equal Hight with reflecting of light.
At the time of Sunrising the assemblages of peaks becomes very beautiful for reflecting sunlight. The equal hight lighting was named SUSHIM. The name Sushim convert itself as below :-
Sushim ------> Sukhim ------> Sikkim
Sishya -------> Sikha --------> Sikhh
