Maldives, called the Maldive Islands untill April 1969. This neighbouring country is situated to the south -west of India. Once it was under mordern Srilanka. The world famous traveller Iban Batua come in this country in1344 - 1345 AD. Maldives is formed by above one thousand small coral islands. The small island has formed 26 circles of islands. The formation of circles are very significant. The natural circles may be compaered with garlands of flower. The garland is called MALA in Indo-Aryan Language. Every natural circle is arranged by small islands one by one as flowers are in a garland. The inner sides of circles are full of water. The inner water is called lagoon. As the formation of circles as garland or mala, the circles are called Mala dive or maldives. Here DIVE means island. The name of capital is Male which is also according to word Mala. The Maldives are full of natural beauty. The beauty may be enjoyed by travelling.
