Tripura is a state of Bharat. The name is mentioned in Mahabharata and ancient book Purana. There is famous and ancient temple of Goddess Tripureshwari near Udaypur of Tripura. According to HinduScriptures the temple is one of 51 Saktipiths (Holy place of goddess Sati) . Here the goddess is famous as Devi Tripureshwari (ancient name) or Tripura Sundari. The gomati is the most sacret and big river ofTripura. The Damroo or Damroo waterfall is situated on the south - east of the state. This is the origin point of Gomati and also a holy place. Here Gomati is considered as secret Ganga. It is also considered thatGomati enters hell from heaven as Ganga. Damroo is a musical instrument of Lord Siva. Here siva holds and Damroodhar. The Gomati as Ganga starts her journey from Damroo waterfall as heaven and reaches Udaypur as Marta or Earth as Tripureshwari holy place via Amarpur. Here Tripuresh Siva as Bhairav is with the goddess. From this place the Gomati takes western turn and flows through Sonamuda, Coomilla(Bangladesh) to meet the river Meghna. There is beautiful Rudrasagar lake as hell is situated near Sonamuda. Here Rudra means Mahadeva Siva. As far as possible there was or is connection with the
